Hannaford, Here I Come!

Before I started couponing, Hannaford was my store of choice.  I found that their prices were more consistently low, unlike Shaw's which I never thought was a general shopping store.  Now, I live at Shaw's, because I am only buying heavily discounted items paired with coupons.

The last time I went to Hannaford was about two months ago.  We needed Rice Cereal for the baby and it was on the way home.  So, the three year old and I headed in for cereal, and coupon hunting!  We came out with the cereal, and the Thank You for Helping Coupon Books.  Well, I might actually be using them now!  Here's what they have to offer (the bolded items are on my list!):

$1 off any my essentials Bacon, $3.49
$1 off my essentials Pancake & Waffle Mix, $2.29
$1 off my essentials Pancake Syrup 24oz, $2.49
$1 off my essentials Orange Juice 64oz, $2.49
$1 off Ocean Spray Craisins, DNI Chocolate covered, 6 oz $2.89
$1 off my essentials Old Fashioned Oats, $3.49

$2 off my essentials Olive Oil, $6.69
$.75 off my essentials Pizza Dough Ball, $2.29
$1 off my essentials Creme Cookies, $2.00
$1 off my essentials Dry Roasted Peanuts, $4.49
$1 off my essentials Pretzels, $2.19
$1 off my essentials Cheddar Lions Snack Crackers, $1.67

Here are my reasons for heading back to Hannaford...at least this week:

These great PDF coupons are what first got my attention (thanks Deals by Darlene).  I will take Darlene's advice and grab a $1 meat product and $2 worth of deli meat.  My house is severely lacking in protein right now, so this couldn't have come at a better time!  If I get to the required $40 AFTER coupons, I will also use the $3 off your order coupon.  Use your myHannaford sticker and get a $5 coupon on a purchase of $50 or more.

What else am I getting???

16 Jars of Beech Nut Baby food, on sale for $.50 each
Use 4 $1.10/4 Stage 2 1/2 Coupons (I will be trying these on the stage 1 and 2 options)
Final Price $3.60 or $.23 each!

I am obsessed with their Roasted Red Pepper Spread over Cream Cheese, so while I'm there, why not pick some up?  The price listed online is $3.19 for the 12.5oz jar...totally worth it!

I am hoping that some of the store coupon items above are randomly marked down for even better savings.  We'll just have to wait and see!!!

Women's Sandal clearance on Totsy, as low as $4.25 each with free shipping on first time orders
The theme of this week...clearance!  Between the Holiday markdowns as high as 75% off, and what seems to be many products going through re-branding, there have been a lot of great deals and freebies spotted.  This is the weekend for what I like to call "Clearance Hopping".  I get the strangest looks from  store employees who think I'm lost, ask if I need help, only to learn that I am Clearance Hopping...I really tell them that!

The First Shaw's Deals of 2012!

It has been a VERY long time since I had a shopping trip this large...I had to use the table tonight!  For starters...how did Windham deal with the printable coupon issue?  Well, I asked an associate while shopping and she was very optimistic, saying of course they should honor them.  When I got to the register, she happened to be the one checking me out.  The Assistant Manager was bagging, and the cashier asked her if she had heard about the recent changes to the coupons, just out of curiosity.  Not only had the Assistant Manager not heard of the issue; she was hesitant to scan them manually!

Here's how I dealt with the problem:

• I suggested that they call veri-FI, in fact, I encouraged it!
• When the AM said they have always been told not to enter them manually if they don't scan, I reminded her that this is a NEW problem, so the standard process is not appropriate.
• When all else fails...tell them "Dan, Dan the Facebook Man said..."  The AM didn't even know who Dan was!  I explained that he is the Shaw's admin of their Facebook Page.  Since Dan has been telling customers that they are aware of the problem and are working on updating their software, that to me means that this is a Shaw's problem, not a customer problem.

The AM told the cashier it was up to her if she wanted to enter them or not, but she wouldn't do it.  Well, she entered them, and it's a good thing she did!

I Love Coming Home to Goodies in My Mailbox!!!

I knew that my Julep Order would be waiting for me when I got home today...but I also had some other goodies in my mailbox!

I found these Shaw's coupons, two for $10 off an order of $120 or more, (one to be used through 1/13 and the other from 1/21-1/29) and another for $2 of any produce purchase.  Since I NEVER spend $120 on groceries, I am super excited about the produce coupon, since these are so rare!

As if that wasn't enough, I also had a surprise from Gerber!  This set of coupons includes a Manufacturer's check for $3.50 off any Good Start 2 Formula, which can be stacked with a coupon since it's a check!

Deal Idea: Use $3.50 Manufacturer's check, and $3 off Gerber Good Start Formula and Cereal Manufacturer's coupon for $6.50 in savings off both!

Also included in my Gerber mailing are $.75 off six NatureSelect 3rd Foods Purees, $.65 off any 4-pack Gerber Yogurt Blends Snack with Whole Grains and $.55 off any 2 Gerber Graduates or Crawlers snacks.  All of these will double at Shaw's, so I will wait for some markdowns and hopefully make out with free baby food!!!
