Hi, I'm Michelle, a coupon-crazy Maineah! This page is intended to be a public forum for sharing of tips, tricks and match-ups specific to Maine and the New England area. Are you tired of coupon match-ups that reference coupons we didn't get locally? Me too, so here we are, focusing on local stores and coupons that are received in Maine Newspapers!

Forget About Dollar Doublers...Tonight Was All About Unbelievable Unilever Deals!
I love it when you find the perfect storm of couponing...a great deal paired with amazing coupons and a store that doubles for almost free products! Tonight's trip came with some worries, since I assumed with such a great deal going on the shelves would be cleared. I found much the opposite in the Windham store...they were fully stocked on everything I wanted!
Here we go...
Suave Body Wash, $2.39 each, B2G1
Used B2G1 from 3/19 RP to get a second one free
Final Cost $2.39 for all three, only $.80 each!
Buy 6 Save $3 Instantly Promotion:
I look at this as an additional $.50 off the sale price of each item, which is how Shaw's lists the participating products in their flyer. The prices below reflect the full reduced amount.
4 Ragu Pasta Sauces $1.19
Used 4 $.50/1 Ragu Sauce Coupons, doubled
Final Cost $.76, only $.19 each
4 Skippy Peanut Butters $1.99 each (with the rising cost of PB, this alone is a great deal)
Used 4 $.75/1 Skippy Peanut Butter Coupons, doubled
Final Cost $1.96, only $.49 each
4 Wishbone Salad Dressings $1.49 each
Used 4 $.50/1 Wishbone Salad Dressing Coupons, doubled
Final Cost $1.96, only $.49 each
Total Retail Value $41.86
I Spent $7.07
A Savings of 83%!!!!!!

The Unilever coupons stated that you couldn't use more than 2 same coupons in one shopping trip. Glad it worked for you, but I didn't dare chance it. I ended up going to 2 different Shaw's to use mine.
ReplyDeleteI asked my store about the $3 instant savings and whether it would work to do 12 in one transaction. I separated for that reason and it just worked out that I could use 2 of each coupon in each transaction. It was more about making sure the store deal would work than getting around the coupon language. I hear you though, I hate that feeling I get when I know a coupon has vague language on it or if I'm "getting away with something". It's a line that I hate to cross!
DeleteThe managers at the stores couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting more than one $3 off for my purchases so they just refunded it to me at the service desk. I needed the total to be high enough for my dollar doublers so I'm glad they didn't make me split up my transactions. :)
DeleteSounds like a win-win to me!
